Alana Dunagan

Alana Dunagan is a small business owner, mother of three, and an advisor with the Presidents Forum, where she works to help college and university presidents innovate collaboratively on behalf of nontraditional students. Previously, Dunagan led policy and communications at Western Governors University, an online, competency based university focused on adult learners. Prior to that, she was the senior research fellow for higher education at The Clayton Christensen Institute for Disruptive Innovation, working to find solutions for a more affordable system that better serves both students and employers. Prior to joining the Christensen Institute, Dunagan spent ten years in institutional investment management working on behalf of nonprofits, particularly colleges and universities. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from Macalester College and a master’s degree in business administration from the Harvard Business School. In January 2017, Alana joined the Serve America Movement (SAM), where she spend five years as a board member working to drive competition in our democracy so that every American could thrive.
