Under the current election system, political leaders in Fort Collins are often elected with less than a majority of the vote. That means many voters' voices are left unheard, and politicians don't represent the majority of voters' views.
Ranked-choice voting (RCV) allows voters to rank the candidates in order of preference. If no candidate gets a majority of the votes (>50%), the lowest-supported candidate is eliminated, but their voters aren't. Instead, those votes are allocated to the voters' next highest ranking in an instant runoff. This process is repeated until a candidate gets a majority of the votes. This forces candidates to campaign for all voters' support and assures that winners are elected with majority support when possible.
By voting YES on Measure 2C you can help pass Ranked-Choice Voting in Fort Collins elections and bring more choices to all Fort Collins voters. The RCV for Fort Collins grassroots campaign has done a great job spreading the word and building support for the measure. Now it's time to help push them over the finish line.
The Colorado Forward Party is teaming up with RepresentUs & the grassroots campaign to call Fort Collins voters and spread the word.
