Hi there!
Forward Party is currently home to over 33,000 volunteers, each one of whom has different skills, experience and abilities that can contribute to the work of building a new political party in the United States. That said, many are new volunteers altogether, and some of the most basic organizing skills are new to them. In order to build a strong, capable team of committed leaders and volunteers, we're building the brand new Forward Party Training Center. The objective of this center is threefold:
- To train volunteers on the mechanics of building a movement
- To communicate the principles and value of Forward Party in a way that clarifies misconceptions
- To understand which volunteers prefer which activities
You'll notice that, as of right now, the center is home to only one training course (Canvassing & Tabling). Soon, there will be a second: Phonebanking. But the vision for this center is much bigger: we envision this as a hub for learning valuable skills - everything from storytelling to civic engagement; leadership empowerment to event hosting. These skills should serve Forward organizers for years to come, both within Forward and in their life beyond the party.
What can you do?
This is a call for help! We need creative minds - graphic designers, sounds engineers, storytellers and thinkers - to help flesh out the training center. We're also looking for experts - those with backgrounds in community organizing, civic engagement, or specific skills like storytelling, facilitation, fundraising or something related.
