I was born in Columbus Ohio and I grew up in Sandy Utah where I graduated from Jordan High School.

Following two years of missionary service in Brazil I attended BYU where I met my wife Bryn. She finished her degree in Geography with a minor in Spanish and supported me while I finished my 3 degrees: a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, a master's degree in Accounting and my Law degree.

After law school, we moved to the northern Virginia area for 7 years where I started my career as a corporate and business law attorney in for a large law firm in Washington DC. We have lived in Draper since 2008 while continuing my career as a partner in a small law firm.​

In my career as an attorney, I have spent two decades successfully negotiating "win-win" solutions for complex business transactions. I believe those negotiating skills and the ability to seek unique resolutions of difficult problems will help me tackle the issues currently facing the State Legislature.

​We love to be involved in the community! Bryn has served extensively in PTA positions at the elementary school, middle school and high school level as well as participating in community councils. I have joined her in PTA positions and have coached recreational soccer and basketball.

I also do pro-bono legal work as a private Guardian Ad Litem, representing the interests of the children in difficult divorce cases. We are the proud parents of five wonderful children, one of whom recently graduated from college, 3 of whom are currently in college and one who is a sophomore in High School.
