The Love Movement

The energy that goes out will echo into the future. Whether it is positive energy, or negative energy… It will manifest in some way, shape, or form as time goes on.

I can resonate with what is going on within our country. Especially, within our healthcare field.

If you know me, then you know that I am a workaholic lol. This was especially the case over the past few years. I am a pharmacy student with a beautiful wife and two boys. I am fortunate enough to have another boy on the way as well, which I am very much excited about! I am proud to say that I am in a good place mentally, physically(I can do a few more pushups here and there), and spiritually. This was not the case at the beginning of this year.

If you have been following my story, then you know that I have been through a lot over the past few years. The only way that I have been able to keep going is by keeping a positive attitude. I did the best I could to take care of everything to my left and to my right. But unfortunately, I forgot to take care of what was in front of me… Which was myself.

As a pharmacy student, husband, and father, I have a sense of urgency to take care of others. Unfortunately, I got lost in the grind of life… But I was determined to push on.

The pandemic continued. My anxiety and stress steadily rose, as family members of mine were passing away during the pandemic. This culminated to moments where I was paralyzed by anxiety. This had to stop. I had neglected my self for so long, that I crashed physically, spiritually, and mentally. If I was going to continue forward with my aspirations of sustaining my American Dream, love needed to take a stand over fear.

If I cannot love myself, then how can I expect to love others as best as I can each day? The love cup needs to be filled before I can take care of others, and that was the message that I received from these anxious filled moments.

As our healthcare field comes out of the ashes of the COVID Pandemic, I want self-care and wellness to be the vision for healthcare personnel to focus on. I want this so that we can make better decisions regarding the care that we give to our patients. The healthcare field needs to be prepared for the Baby Boomer Generation, as they continue to get older. The older one becomes, the more likely for their to be chronic conditions to treat.

My hope for The Love Movement is to emphasize the importance of taking care of your self. Wellness is not only important for self, but for everyone around as well. If everyone is negative and bitter, how can positivity and love spread?

I am partnering with the Forward Party regarding this fundraiser. We are a political party which is composed of democrats, independents, and republicans who want to put action behind our words. We will have our first national convention occurring in June in Denver, Colorado. The Northern Virginia region of Forward is looking to send two delegates to represent us.  We have until May 1st to raise $5,000 together, which I believe we can achieve.
