The Forward Party is proud to endorse Shelane Etchison for U.S. House in NC-09.
Shelane is the first independent candidate to successfully petition onto the ballot for the U.S. House in North Carolina’s history. She’s a former Army officer with two graduate degrees from Harvard, and she is now turning her attention to helping represent her community in Congress.
Following the attacks on 9/11, Etchison commissioned as an Army officer and was deployed to Iraq. She led soldiers as an MP Platoon Leader and Executive Officer. After returning from deployment, she was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where she was selected for a Special Operations pilot program. After 11 years of service, she pursued an MBA and MPP from Harvard’s Business and Kennedy Schools.
