Forward Party Endorses Congressional Candidate Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick in Pennsylvania’s 1st District

October 26, 2026

Washington D.C.–

The Forward Party today announced its endorsement of Republican Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, who is seeking reelection to represent Pennsylvania’s 1st District in the U.S. House of Representatives in the November general election, continuing the party’s support for candidates who put constituents ahead of party loyalty.

Fitzpatrick is a Bucks County native who spent nearly 15 years as an FBI Supervisory Special Agent before coming to Congress. He has made reforming government his mission, and he is drawn to the beyond-partisan, independent-minded problem-solving ideals of the Forward Party.

“Brian Fitzpatrick has built his time in Congress around fixing the system rather than defending it. Term limits, open primaries and an end to partisan gerrymandering are not easy positions to take inside a major party, and he has taken them anyway. His independent-minded approach to problem solving is exactly what Forward exists to support.”

Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick – Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District

Since 2021, Fitzpatrick has served as the Republican Co-Chair of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, a group that puts policy ahead of party interests. He was elected to the role after serving as the caucus’s Vice Chair and now co-chairs it with Democratic Rep. Tom Suozzi. The caucus’s “Building Bridges” framework, released in June 2021, was integral to the negotiations that led to the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Fitzpatrick helped negotiate the bill and was one of eight Republicans to vote for it, and the only Republican in Pennsylvania’s House delegation to do so.

His record has earned national recognition. The Lugar Center and Georgetown University’s Bipartisan Index ranked Fitzpatrick the most bipartisan of 437 House members in the 116th Congress (2019-2020), with a record full-Congress score of 6.839. By the 2023 rankings, he had led the House for a fifth consecutive year, making him the only House member ever ranked first in multiple Congresses. The index measures how often a member’s bills attract cross-party cosponsors and how often the member cosponsors the other party’s bills.

In Congress, Fitzpatrick has also introduced plans to impose Congressional term limits, withhold pay from members when no budget passes, balance the federal budget, allow unaffiliated voters to vote in primary elections, and tackle partisan gerrymandering. Each proposal is aimed at changing the incentives that drive Washington’s persistent dysfunction.

Fitzpatrick is seeking reelection to continue that work on behalf of the people of Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District.

This endorsement reflects the Forward Party’s continued cross-partisan candidate strategy, through which the party supports candidates regardless of affiliation whose approach to governing aligns with its principles of accountability and service to voters rather than partisan interests. It also supports Forward’s broader Fulcrum Strategy: building a bloc of elected officials willing to act independently of party leadership on consequential votes, and shifting the incentive in Congress from party loyalty toward earning support on the merits of legislation.

Fitzpatrick is running for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives in the general election, taking place on November 3, 2026.
