Washington D.C.–
The Forward Party today announced its endorsement of Scott Morgan, the United Kansas Party candidate for Kansas Secretary of State in the November general election, continuing the party’s support for candidates who put voters ahead of parties.
A fifth-generation Kansan with decades of experience in law, public service and civic life, Morgan is running to serve as a neutral referee in the office that oversees the state’s elections.

“Scott Morgan understands that the person running a state’s elections should answer to voters, not to a party. He has spent more than a decade helping build a new political home for Kansans who want more choice and more common ground, and that mission is closely aligned with Forward’s. We are proud to support him.”
-Lindsey Drath, CEO, Forward Party
Scott Morgan – Kansas Secretary of State
Morgan is a fifth-generation Kansan, a Lawrence lawyer, a former publisher and a civic volunteer. Early in his career he worked for Senators Nancy Kassebaum and Bob Dole, represented the Senate at the Federal Election Commission and served as counsel to Gov. Mike Hayden. A former Republican candidate, Morgan spent the last 12 years helping build the new moderate United Kansas Party, an effort to give Kansas voters a real alternative to the two major parties.
Morgan is running for Secretary of State to serve as a neutral referee, committed to fair and trusted elections. He shares Forward’s commitment to political choice, common ground and putting voters ahead of legacy party mandates.
This endorsement reflects the Forward Party’s continued cross-partisan candidate strategy, through which the party supports candidates regardless of affiliation whose approach to governing aligns with its principles of representation and service to voters rather than partisan interests. Jolly’s own political journey, from Republican member of Congress to Democratic gubernatorial nominee, underscores the kind of independent thinking Forward believes voters are looking for in their leaders.
