Washington D.C.–
The Forward Party today announced its endorsement of Massachusetts State Auditor Diana DiZoglio, who is running for re-election in November, continuing the party’s commitment to supporting officials who fight for transparency and accountability regardless of party. DiZoglio has built her career on holding Beacon Hill accountable to the people it serves, a mission she has pursued relentlessly since taking office as the Commonwealth’s chief accountability officer in 2023.

“Diana DiZoglio has shown what it looks like to actually fight for transparency instead of just talking about it. She took on entrenched interests in her own party in pursuit of an audit of the Legislature that voters overwhelmingly demanded, and she hasn’t backed down since. That kind of independence and accountability to the public rather than to political insiders is exactly what Forward stands for.”
-Lindsey Drath, CEO, Forward Party
Diana DiZoglio – Massachusetts State Auditor
DiZoglio was raised in Methuen, Massachusetts by a single mother who had her at seventeen and experienced housing insecurity growing up. She attended Massachusetts public schools before going on to Middlesex Community College and later Wellesley College on a financial scholarship. Before entering elected office, she worked as a legislative aide on Beacon Hill and as Chief of Staff for the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts, alongside years of work with local nonprofits and community organizations serving teens and struggling families.
DiZoglio was first elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 2012, where she served three terms before being elected to the State Senate in 2018. In 2022, she was elected State Auditor, becoming the youngest statewide constitutional officer in the Commonwealth. As Auditor, she completed the executive branch’s first full round of legally required department audits in decades and championed a 2024 ballot question, approved by seventy-two percent of Massachusetts voters, restoring the Auditor’s authority to examine the Legislature itself, an institution that had gone unaudited since 1922.
DiZoglio has continued to press for that legislative audit and for broader public records reform even as legislative leaders have resisted, arguing that Beacon Hill owes taxpayers the same scrutiny it applies to every other part of state government. She has framed her work around a simple standard: no one should receive different treatment from the state government because of their background, their bank balance or their zip code.
This endorsement reflects the Forward Party’s continued strategy of supporting representatives, Democrats, Republicans and independents alike, who are willing to challenge entrenched power structures, including within their own party, in service of transparency and accountability to voters. DiZoglio’s record as Auditor, and her willingness to take on legislative leadership to deliver the oversight voters demanded, reflects the kind of independent-minded governance Forward is working to build support for nationwide.
DiZoglio is running as the Democratic nominee for Massachusetts State Auditor in the general election, taking place on November 3, 2026.
